Ram Miriyala is a versatile Indian playback singer, music composer, record producer, film scorer, and songwriter in Telugu cinema.
Ram began his career in the corporate sector before discovering his passion for music. After two years of training in Carnatic music, he fell in love with the art form, even though he couldn’t continue formal training due to personal reasons. He later joined Radio Mirchi as a promo producer, where his journey into professional music truly began.
In 2018, Ram co-founded the music band Chowraasta with colleagues Yashwanth Nag, Bala, Akshay, Anant, and Srinivas. The band gained popularity for blending Telugu folk music with reggae, producing hits like “Oorellipota Mama” and “Maya”. These songs addressed social issues and struck a chord with audiences, earning Ram the nickname “Chowraasta Ram.” During the COVID-19 lockdown, the band released “Cheyi Cheyi Kalapaku Ra”, a song promoting awareness about the pandemic.
Ram’s journey as a playback singer began with “Vagalaadi” from the film Brochevarevarura in 2019. The song, composed by Vivek Sagar, was praised for its unique blend of musical elements. In 2020, Ram stepped away from Chowraasta to focus on his solo career.
Known for his ability to infuse folk elements with contemporary sounds, Ram Miriyala continues to redefine Telugu music and captivate audiences with his creativity.
